Position : HWSETA Basic Level Pharmacist Assistant LearnerIntroduction
A vacancy exists for an 18.2 HWSETA Basic Level Pharmacist Assistant Learner, based at Life St George’s Hospital, reporting to Adaire Begley, Senior Pharmacist.
The successful candidate will be offered a HWSETA grant that will cover the course fee and stipend while in employ for a 12 month period at Life St George’s Hospital Pharmacy.
Prospective learners must also write an arithmetic and literacy assessment and pass with a score of 85%, before he/she will be considered for enrolment.
Critical Outputs
- General housekeeping and administrative tasks in the pharmacy as specified by the Pharmacy Manager/Senior Pharmacist.
- Assist with unpacking of medicines.
- Picking, packing and dispatching of ward orders.
- Assist with cycle counts and stock takes of pharmaceutical stock.
- Assist with the compounding of pharmaceutical preparations.
- The provision of information to individuals to promote health.
Requirements
- Matric certificate (certified copy).
- Passed Maths/Maths Lit and Science/Life Science.
- Currently unemployed.
- From a previously disadvantaged background.
- Computer literacy will be an advantage.
- The ideal incumbent should be highly motivated, enthusiastic and work well in a team.
