| Job Description | Carry out activities in the packing area, ensuring the highest quality product is packed, labelled and palletised to ensure customer requirements are met. |
PACKING
Descriptor:
− Prepare for packing by checking if equipment to be used is available (Shrink plastic wrap, trays and boxes).
− Check if there is enough plastic in the machine.
− Pack sauces inside trays while checking if product is filled to the required standard and labels are correctly placed.
− Observe the wrapper machine while product is being wrapped, removing those that are not wrapped properly to be re-wrapped.
− Understand specific machine control functions i.e. stop-start all safety devices.
− Report quickly and efficiently, to the appropriate operator/Team Leader/Group Shift Leader regarding any on-line faults that may occur, are occurring or that have occurred.
− Liaise with colleagues ensuring continuity of OEE% and carrying out effective handover to the next shift.
− Have a flexible approach to work and carry out reasonable alternative duties, as and when required by the operative/Team Leader/Group Shift Leader.
− Keep the area clean by cordoning the place, if there are broken bottles, and sweeping using the required cleaning material.
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION
− Matric OR Basic literacy and numeracy skills and ability to understand instructions
EXPERIENCE
− Experience in a similar hands-on role.
− Experience of working in a manufacturing environment
